Until then I hadn't been so adventurous with my ferments. I couldn't fathom even tasting them, let alone make them. Hmmm so what does it taste like? Tradtional Sauerkraut tastes like cabbage with a slightly tangy flavour, you can buy an organic version, but from memory it wasn't as good as homemade (generally the deal huh). It's quite strong, but the idea is just as a small side condiment, you don't need much. The Cortido has a slightly warmer flavour (every single person I've fed this too, loves it!) and the cabbage apple salsa is fresh and obviously alot sweeter. Let me know if you venture into making them, they really are not hard.

Re: Return of the Friday Night Feast

they certainly are!

Re: Cortido (Latin American Sauerkraut) / Cabbage & Apple Salsa

I've never tried sauerkraut or anything fermented as it sounds too scary.
